Over the wall camp provide free camps and experiences for children and young people living with medical health challenges, their siblings and their families.
Residential camps
They have 3 different residential camps (in person): health challenged children, siblings of health challenged children, and families. The family camps take place on the weekends and individuals camps are held during half terms.
The camps include fun activities for kids, archery, rowing, making tie-dye shirts, baking, etc and have alternative activities for different energy levels and are accessible for everyone. They have a wellbeing co-ordinator, and onsite volunteer medical team NHS nurses, Drs and paramedics (non-uniformed).
They have certain criteria in terms of who can be accepted into the camps based on ability to perform activities independently including toileting, bathing, communicating and transferring themselves from a wheelchair (where applicable).
Virtual camps
They also offer the option of virtual camps called ‘Camp in the cloud’. These are suitable for both those who unable to attend a residential camp or want a taste of it before they attend the residential one. They are held using Zoom and involve quizzes, escape rooms, dance parties, arts and crafts etc. They typically are held from 10am to 2pm but attendees can leave and re-join as needed.
