Safeguarding

At Alex TLC we understand the vital importance of safeguarding and protecting children, young people and adults at risk. We have a responsibility to promote the welfare of all children, young people and adults at risk and to keep them safe. We have a duty of care when they are in our charge and will do everything we can to provide a safe and caring environment whilst they attend our activities or are supported by us.

We have developed safeguarding policies and procedures, reviewed and approved annually by our Board of Trustees, which are agreed to and followed by all Alex TLC staff and volunteers.

Our safeguarding policies include that:

• All members of our board are DBS checked and undergo appropriate safeguarding training on a regular basis
• All staff and volunteers who have direct contact with children, young people and adults at risk are DBS checked and undergo appropriate safeguarding training on a regular basis
• All beneficiary activities and events are risk assessed
• All external activity suppliers providing services/activities for children, young people and adults at risk must have appropriate insurance and DBS checks
• Alex TLC has appropriate liability insurances in place
