Sara, our CEO, and Kristina, our Research Analyst attended the Society for Endocrinology – British Endocrinology Society (SfE BES) conference from Monday 2nd to Wednesday 4th March in Harrogate.
We had conference stand at the event to bring awareness to the critical link between primary adrenal insufficiency (Addison’s Disease) and Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD). 80% of males with ALD will also have adrenal insufficiency and early diagnosis leads to saving lives.
Associated with the SfE BES conference, we attended a Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) in Action meeting.
The meeting ‘Uniting Healthcare Professionals, Patients, the Public & Scientists for Better Endocrine Research’ focused on what PPIE means in the context of endocrine research, how to manage expectations of both public and scientists, and what patient support groups should be asking for.
