Our Director of Support, Karen, presented at Addenbrookes Hospital. She spoke to the scientists in the laboratory about the importance of newborn screening for families.
Karen was invited to present by Dr Nick Flynn (Interim Laboratory Director at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) who she met when she presented at the ISNS meeting in Luxembourg. Dr Flynn has joined our team of doctors to help get the evidence together for when newborn screening for ALD in the UK is reviewed again by the national screening committee later this year.
