Winston’s Wish is a charity offering support to children and young people aged 25 and under who have been bereaved or facing the death of someone special. There are several books available for children that address themes of loss and grief;
Granpa by John Burningham – a book for children about the special relationships we share with Grandparents and the loss of a Grandparent. A video of the book was made but it can be difficult to find to purchase. The video can be found on YouTube.
Badger’s Parting Gifts by Susan Varley – an award-winning book endorsed by Child Bereavement UK that deals with the loss of a loved one.
The Invisible String and The Invisible String Celebration by Patrice Karst – bestselling picture book about the unbreakable connections between loved ones through separation and loss. There is also an activity/workbook available to accompany the book.
