Having an up-to-date Will can provide peace of mind and ensure the people and causes you care about are provided for, exactly as you want them to be.

Deciding how you would like your estate to be distributed and taking care of your closest friends and family, is something incredibly important and personal to each of us.

Once you have allowed for those you love the most, please consider making our charity one of your beneficiaries. It will make a lasting difference to those affected by leukodystrophy.

Whether you are making a new will or updating an existing one, we recommend that you seek professional advice from a solicitor. They have the legal expertise to ensure your will is valid, and they can clearly express and carry out your wishes.

Whatever the value of your gift, it will go a long way to help someone who needs us. It will not cost you a penny during your lifetime, is simple to do, and is free from inheritance tax.

How to leave a gift in your Will:

Contact a solicitor

A solicitor will make sure that your wishes will be carried out as you intend. You may also wish to utilise our partnerships with FreeWills, however, we recommend you seek legal advice before creating a Will.

Choose the type of gift you would like to leave

A percentage share

A share of the value of your assets, such as property and savings. This is the most helpful way to leave a gift to Alex TLC as it won’t lose value over time. This is also known as a residuary gift.

A lump sum

A specific amount of money which can be any amount you choose. This is also known as a pecuniary gift.

Specific gifts

Some supporters choose to leave specific items such as jewellery, stamps or medals.
