Ionis have released a Community Statement regarding an update about their zilganersen programme
Ionis has opened an Expanded Access Program (EAP) for people with Alexander disease to access zilganersen in the United States. An Expanded Access Program is a pathway for a patient with a serious or immediately life-threatening disease or condition to gain access to an investigational medical product for treatment outside of clinical trials when no comparable or satisfactory alternative therapy options are available.

For patients outside of the US
The Expanded Access Program (EAP) is open to individuals who reside in the US only. Ionis understand that those outside the US are also interested in seeking access to zilganersen prior to review and approval of regulators. Ionis continue to advance their work to identify a high quality partner to bring zilganersen to market outside the US and will keep Alex TLC updated as that work advances forward. Individuals and doctors outside the US are encouraged to reach out with their requests to medinfo@ionis.com so Ionis can keep track of the interest.
