Hydrocortisone sodium phosphate injection discontinued

For those affected by Addison’s Disease

We wanted to share a recent announcement affecting those with Addison’s Disease. Hydrocortisone sodium phosphate injection (the pre-mixed hydrocortisone injection) has been discontinued.

Addison’s Disease Self-Help Group (ADSHG) have released the following announcement: “Advanz Pharma has confirmed that following manufacturing issues, it has permanently discontinued the manufacture of hydrocortisone sodium phosphate in the UK. All those with adrenal insufficiency, including Addison’s, will need to order the alternative form, hydrocortisone sodium succinate (previously known as Solu-Cortef), when renewing supplies for their emergency injection kit.”
